Looking for Guides!

    January 9, 2017

Do you love the smell of the seabreeze, the feel of saltwater on your skin? Does the sight of a mother otter caring for her pup or rowdy sea lions porpoising through the Bay’s waters warm your heart? Are your dreams filled with visions of kelp forests, sea stars, nudibranchs and harbor seals? Do you love telling everyone you meet about the new incredible fact you just learned about the ecology of the Monterey Bay?

If you answered yes to these questions, you just might be a good fit for one of the best jobs on the Monterey Bay.

We’re Kayak Connection and we are looking for a few very special people to join our team this season. As a kayak guide you will lead wildlife tours on the amazing Elkhorn Slough at our Moss Landing location or out of the beautiful Santa Cruz Harbor location, exploring from Steamer Lane to Capitola. You will educate tour participants and renters on safety, basic kayaking skills, and environmental stewardship while providing a fun, entertaining experience they will remember for a lifetime. Assist with taking reservations, checking in paddlers, gearing them up and getting them fired up for a great time on the water.

Guiding work is part-time with the majority of work available from March-October. Mandatory 4 day training to be held in early spring.

We get LOADS of applications for just a few positions, after all it IS one of the best jobs on the coast. If you are serious about it, make yourself stand out. Let us know why YOU would be a good fit for our team. Put some thought into it, after all, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Make it count.

Drop off a resume at either shop, or email your resume to staff@kayakconnection.com.
